Midvale City has prohibited the discharge of personal fireworks from July 22 through July 25, 2026, to help protect the community during extreme wildfire conditions.
The prohibition was approved by the State Forester following a request from Midvale City and aligns with Governor Spencer Cox's Executive Order 2026-04 and the Utah State Forester's Order dated July 21, 2026.
The city is currently experiencing severe drought, record-breaking heat, and extremely dry vegetation that can quickly fuel a fire.
Recent fires in Midvale neighborhoods have demonstrated how a single spark can spread quickly, threatening public safety, property, and homes.
Residents are encouraged to celebrate Pioneer Day safely by attending professional fireworks displays. Officials stated that participating in these displays helps prevent wildfires and protects neighborhoods, open spaces, first responders, and the community.
