Mount Mahogany Elementary is offering various assistance programs to support its school community, including food assistance through several different channels. These services are free to the community, and school officials encourage families to sign up for them to help ensure the programs continue.
The school is partnering with the FIVE.12 Foundation for the Backpack Club, which provides students with easy-to-prepare food for the weekend. Additionally, the Utah Food Bank has partnered with the school to serve as a community drop-off location, providing grocery kits that may include canned goods, fresh produce, and bread or grains. A school pantry is also available, offering free boxes of food items such as rice, beans, pasta, and snacks upon request via an online form.
Upcoming events include a PTA Carnival scheduled for Sept. 21, which features a silent auction and food pre-ordering. The school is also preparing for a Coats and Costumes exchange in October, for which donations are currently being collected. Other scheduled activities include vision screenings on Oct. 1 and the National Reflections Art Contest, with entries to be recognized during Math Night in November.
