Early Childhood Programming
Early childhood programming includes sessions designed for various developmental stages. Preschool Time, which features stories, songs, fingerplays, and puppets for children aged 3 to 5, is scheduled for September 1 at 10:00 a.m. and September 2 at 10:00 a.m. in the library's Story Room. The library noted that these sessions are intended for preschoolers ready to be separated from their parents, though latecomers are welcome to attend the subsequent Toddler Time.
Toddler and Infant Services
For infants and toddlers, the library will host Tummy Time Together on September 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Story Room. This event offers a supportive playtime for babies, allowing caregivers to socialize and share experiences while children explore. The library specified that no older siblings are permitted during this session.
Literacy and Creative Activities
The library's schedule for older children includes several literacy-based and creative programs. Library Kids sessions, which focus on literacy for ages 5 to 8, are scheduled for September 3, September 10, and September 17, all at 4:15 p.m. in the Young Special Events Room #201. Additionally, the LEGO Crew program, which provides building concepts for children ages 5 to 8, will take place on September 9 and September 23, with finished creations displayed for others to view.

Tween Thursdays will feature rotating activities such as Slingshot Cars on September 3, Decorate a Notebook on September 10, and Pool Noodle Capture the Flag on September 17, all held at 4:15 p.m. in the Story Room. Other specialized clubs include the Tween Minecraft Club, held on September 9 and September 23 in the Shaw Programming Room #260, and the Tween Dungeons & Dragons quest, scheduled for September 14 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Story Room.
Community Challenges and Social Events
The library's September calendar also includes interactive challenges and social gatherings. The Word Worm vocabulary challenge will be held throughout various days, including September 8, September 9, September 10, September 11, September 12, and September 24, located in the Children's Department. Families can also participate in the Rhyme Find challenge at the Children's Desk on September 21, 22, 23, and 24. For homeschool families, the library hosts Homeschool Hangout on September 8 and Homeschool STEAM Time on September 22, which focuses on topics such as the States of Matter.
Special Events and Entertainment
Special events and entertainment are also part of the upcoming month. On September 6, the library offers a Creator Kit featuring a Beaded Butterfly, which can be borrowed from the First Floor Reference Desk. On September 12, the 'Going on a Bear Hunt' event will take place in the Story Room from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., featuring crafts and a live video of bears. Entertainment options include a Family Movie Night featuring Moana 2 on September 18 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and a Kids' Comedy Show featuring Tan Van Comedy on September 19 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in The Nelson Attic.
