Salt Lake City Council District 2 has released several updates regarding community engagement and city business. Recent notices highlight upcoming community events and changes to the City Council meeting schedule.
A community event titled Canned with Care is being promoted as a hands-on event focused on food preservation.
The City Council is also scheduled to host its Sept. 22 meeting at the Utah State Fairpark, Deseret Building, on the Westside. This meeting will be held in the community to make local government more accessible, and officials noted that a Zoom option will not be available for this specific session.
The Council is currently reviewing updates to the Northwest Community Plan, which establishes a 15-year vision for the area and connects local growth to Plan Salt Lake.
Additionally, the Salt Lake City Council previously adopted the $2.1 billion Fiscal Year 2026-27 budget on June 16, 2026. The spending plan focuses on public safety, essential services, neighborhood infrastructure, and financial stewardship.
Other scheduled meetings include C.R.A. and City Council meetings on Aug. 25 and Sep. 8, as well as a City Council meeting on Sep. 15. Residents can register to comment in person at City Hall or via Zoom for these sessions, with agendas published at least 24 hours in advance.
