The Park City Museum has expanded its summer outdoor programming with the addition of a new Historic Park Avenue Walking Tour, joining existing guided routes through Main Street and Glenwood Cemetery for the 2026 season. The museum announced June 26 that the seasonal tours are available for registration via their event calendar.
New Park Avenue Tour Details
The new Park Avenue Walking Tour is designed to showcase the architectural history and community stories of the area. According to information from the Park City Museum, the tour focuses on the individuals who once resided on Park Avenue, as well as the architecture of local buildings, churches, and businesses that historically comprised the community.
Schedule and Parking Information
Scheduled sessions for the Park Avenue route will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on July 3, July 17, August 7, August 21, September 4, and September 18. The cost for the tour is $15 per person. To facilitate access, the museum instructs participants to park their vehicles at St. Mary’s Old Town Chapel, located at 121 Park Avenue, where a parking pass will be provided to place on vehicle dashboards.
Main Street Tour Schedule
In addition to the new Park Avenue route, the museum is continuing its Guided Public Historic Main Street Tours through the summer. These tours are scheduled to run Monday through Friday from June 29 through September 18, provided weather conditions permit. When running, these sessions meet at the Museum shop at 2 p.m.
Main Street Tour Exceptions
The museum noted that no Main Street walking tours will be held on August 7 due to the Kimball Arts Festival Weekend, nor on September 7 in observance of Labor Day and Miner's Day. However, select Saturday sessions are available this year on July 18, August 15, and September 19 at 10:30 a.m.
Glenwood Cemetery Walking Tours
The museum's summer lineup also includes the Historic Glenwood Cemetery Walking Tours. These sessions, which explore the history of the cemetery and its residents, will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., beginning June 30 and running through September 17. Participants are directed to meet at the Glenwood Cemetery gate at 401 Silver King Drive, with parking available nearby on Silver King Drive.
Evening and Weekend Options
For those seeking evening or weekend options, the museum will host two Monday evening tours per month from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on June 29, July 6, July 20, August 10, August 24, and September 14. Additionally, monthly Saturday tours will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on July 25, August 22, and September 5.
For all outdoor walking tours, the Park City Museum advises participants to wear comfortable walking shoes, apply sunscreen, and bring a water bottle. All three public tour types—Main Street, Glenwood Cemetery, and Park Avenue—are priced at $15 per person.
The museum also offers private guided tours for larger groups. These private sessions are available for Main Street, Glenwood Cemetery, or Park Avenue and require a minimum of twelve people. The cost for private tours is $20 per person, or a minimum group rate of $240.
Registration for public tours can be completed through the museum's event page at parkcityhistory.org/events or in person at the museum shop before a tour begins. For Main Street tours, space is strictly limited to fifteen people per session.
