The Emery County Public Lands Council is scheduled to hold a regular meeting on Oct. 6, 2026, according to a notice published Oct. 5. The meeting is set to take place from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the Emery County Courthouse in the Canyon Conference Room.
The agenda for the meeting includes the approval of meeting minutes from Sept. 1, 2026. Participants will also discuss, approve, or deny work related to the White Dugway Update. Additionally, Ben Grimes is scheduled to provide a presentation regarding mining and water.
Several agency reports are scheduled for the meeting, including representatives or updates from the Utah State Department of Agriculture, the Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation, and the Utah Division of Water Rights (DWRe). Other agencies expected to be represented include Utah State Parks, the Manti-La Sal National Forest (MLNF), the Utah Trust Lands Administration (TLA), the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR), and the Utah Division of Oil, Gas, and Mining (DOGM). The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the Public Lands Policy Coordinating Office (PLPCO) are also listed, along with staff from the Washington Delegation.
The mission of the Emery County Public Lands Council is to represent the interests of the public lands of Emery County and its citizens. The council serves an advocacy role for local users and stakeholders, working in partnership with federal and state agencies to influence management decisions and policies. The council aims to ensure harmony between various entity objectives and the Emery County General Plan while preserving the community heritage of Emery County under the authority of the Emery County Commission.
