The Stookey Fire burned 10,276 acres in Tooele County. As of Wednesday, July 15, 2026, 342 personnel were engaged in fighting the fire, which reached a containment level of 5%.
According to Utah Fire Info, crews focused efforts on the south and west sides of the fire overnight. Personnel worked to reduce hot spots by shuttling water from water tenders.
Road closures were reported in the area near the fire. Along Pony Express Road, which remains closed at SR-26, crews worked to secure the line and reduce heat from hot spots. Sharp Road also remained closed.
Evacuation zones remained in effect for areas east of the fire.
