The Utah Mammoth selected Adam Valentini with the 32nd pick of the third round in the 2026 NHL Draft on Saturday. Valentini, playing for the University of Michigan ice hockey team, was taken 96th overall.

Valentini enters the professional ranks following a freshman season at Michigan where he helped the Wolverines achieve a Big Ten Tournament championship and a trip to the Frozen Four. During his freshman campaign, he recorded 27 points consisting of 11 goals and 16 assists while appearing in all 40 games. He led all freshmen in scoring during that period.
Offensive consistency and scoring highlights
A native of Toronto, Ontario, Valentini demonstrated consistent offensive production, recording points in more than half of his games. His season included a three-game point streak at the start of his career and a notable performance against Penn State where he recorded one goal and two assists.
International hockey achievements and leadership
Valentini's international experience includes serving as an alternate captain for Hockey Canada at the 2016 U18 World Championship. He also held an alternate captain role at the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, where his team earned a bronze medal, and was the leading scorer at the 2024 World U17 Hockey Challenge following a gold medal win.
Junior hockey background and teammates
Before joining Michigan, Valentini played for the Chicago Steel in the USHL and previously competed in the Greater Toronto Hockey League. He joins fellow Michigan freshman J.P. Hurlbert, who was selected by the Detroit Red Wings in the first round of the draft on Friday night.
