The Salt Lake City School District has been recognized for outstanding financial reporting by both the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada and the Association of School Business Officials.
The GFOA awarded the district its Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting regarding the comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024. This achievement represents the 48th consecutive year the district has received this honor.
To earn the GFOA award, a government agency is required to produce a report that meets strict legal requirements and accounting principles while remaining well-organized and easy to read.
Additionally, the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) presented the district with its Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting. This marks the 46th consecutive year the district has earned this specific recognition, confirming that the annual report meets high standards set by ASBO.
The district stated that these awards reflect an ongoing commitment to excellence in managing public funds, as well as a dedication to accountability and transparency.
