Rancho Markets has opened its doors in American Fork, bringing a chain of ten stores to the area, according to a report published October 1. The new location offers unique and authentic food products intended to serve as a cultural hub for the community.
The American Fork location features an in-house restaurant serving authentic Mexican dishes, including empanadas and tamales. The store also includes a carnicería for meat cuts and chorizo, a produce section with international fruits and vegetables, and a pastry display. Additionally, the store offers Heladita, a brand of in-house ice cream with flavors such as coconut, pecan, Superman, pistachio, and egg nog. To assist shoppers, the store uses both English and Spanish on signage, and employees are available to assist in both languages.
Current weekly specials at the store include four pounds of bananas for $1 or three pounds of cantaloupe for $1. Local resident Britney Schrader noted during her visit on opening day that the store felt bright, clean, and spacious. Another customer, Yosha Spens, highlighted the variety of produce and the convenience of finding diverse bread options from various countries south of the United States in one location.
Founded by Eli Madrigal, the Rancho Markets chain focuses on providing quality products at low prices. The organization supports the community by accepting monetary donations for the Cities Strong Foundation, which funds local family meals, cultural events, educational scholarships, and emergency assistance programs. Donations can be made in person at any location or online.
Rancho Markets will celebrate its grand opening this weekend on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 702 East State Street in American Fork.
