Board membership structure
The membership of the University of Utah Board of Trustees is structured to include both appointed and ex-officio members. Per University of Utah regulations, eight voting members are appointed by the governor with the advice and consent of the Utah State Senate. The remaining two voting seats are held by ex-officio members representing the university's student body and alumni: the President of the Associated Students of the University of Utah and the President of the University Alumni Association Board of Directors.
