In June, the Utah Office of Homeless Services and the Utah Homeless Services Board honored Fourth Street Clinic for its care of Utah's most vulnerable neighbors. According to the board, staff members meet individuals in difficult moments with professionalism, dignity, and compassion.
During the presentation, members of the Utah Homeless Services Board discussed the clinic's community impact. Randy Shumway, Board Chair for the Utah Office of Homeless Services, stated that supporting the expansion of Fourth Street Clinic was easy due to the quality of care and volume of capacity provided.
Mayor Erin Mendenhall, acting as a board member, described the clinic as an irreplaceable and critical component of care in the city that has outgrown its current facility.
The clinic also serves as a site for medical training. Board member Spencer P. Eccles noted that Fourth Street Clinic is one of the locations where first-year students from the University of Utah Medical School work directly with patients, helping to train future physicians through hands-on care.
As demand for services grows, the clinic continues to provide healthcare to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
