The Peace Labyrinth Open Space, situated along the Jordan River in the Glendale neighborhood of Council District 2, is undergoing a reimagining process. Using funds from the Parks, Trails, & Open Space General Obligation Bond approved in November 2022, the project seeks to incorporate elements that capture the history and identity of the surrounding neighborhood.
Potential improvements may include new amenities, increased placemaking elements, or the addition of multilingual wayfinding signage.
The project is currently in a stage where concept designs are being developed. Following community engagement in the spring of 2024, Salt Lake City Public Lands evaluated feedback regarding desired improvements to help shape these designs.
Because the site is located within the Jordan River corridor, the public engagement strategy for this project will be synchronized with the vision of the Emerald Ribbon Action Plan while also addressing site-specific desires gathered during the engagement process.
The project timeline consists of eight phases, moving from scope development and public input opportunities to concept design, contractor selection, and construction. Once proposed designs are developed, the public will be asked to review them to ensure community priorities are included.
