Uintah Elementary principal Bruce Simpson reported that students are settling into classroom routines and engaging in meaningful learning activities. In an undated message, Simpson noted that students are performing well academically, with proficiency scores on state RISE assessments reaching 74% in Language Arts, 79% in Math, and 81% in Science.
The school reported that its assessment scores are among the top in the district. Simpson stated that Uintah students typically score well above the state average.
Several upcoming events were outlined for the community, including a School Community Council meeting on Tuesday, September 15, from 4:45 to 6:00 p.m. in room 204. Additionally, the PTA Color Rainbow Run is scheduled for Friday, September 18, with a short-day dismissal at 1:30 p.m. The school will also observe a short day on Thursday, September 24, with dismissal at 1:30 p.m., and a non-student day on Friday, September 25.
The school's theme for the 2026-2027 school year is Every Unicorn is a Blessing. This theme is inspired by the fact that a group or herd of unicorns is called a blessing.
Simpson expressed gratitude to the PTA and community members for their support of students and teachers. He also encouraged families to help children arrive at school on time and to reinforce kindness, responsibility, and respect at home.
