The fall sports season for Lehi-area high schools begins next week, setting the stage for a competitive year following significant postseason achievements by local athletes. While local high school students do not return to the classroom until Aug. 19, the athletic season officially gets underway this coming Monday.
Skyridge Football Season Kickoff
Skyridge High School football is preparing to kick off its 2026 season under the Friday night lights. According to prior reporting by Lehi Free Press, the Falcon football team will begin its campaign with a series of scrimmages and a scheduled fundraiser.
Fundraising and Kickoff Dates
The football program's upcoming schedule includes a fundraising event designed to support the team's operations. As reported by Lehi Free Press, the Lehi High School community is invited to participate in the Pioneers' annual football fundraising dinner and auction, an event scheduled for Aug. 1. This comes ahead of the official kickoff games slated for Aug. 7.
Baseball and Softball Success
The start of the fall season follows a period of high-level performance from Skyridge athletes in various sports. The Skyridge baseball team recently concluded a strong postseason run, finishing second in the 6A classification. Despite being the No. 7 seed, the team challenged the defending champions in the final series, according to Lehi Free Press reporting.
Spring Season Standings
Skyridge's dominance extended to the softball and lacrosse fields during the recent season. The Skyridge softball team achieved a 9-3 record in Region 3 play, securing a second-place finish in the league. Additionally, the Skyridge girls lacrosse team reached the 6A state tournament, where they eliminated their first three opponents before concluding their run.
Golf State Performance
The Skyridge girls golf team also saw success on the state stage, capturing an eighth-place finish at the 6A state tournament. This performance occurred within a highly competitive section of the field, as noted in recent reporting by Lehi Free Press.
Track and Field Honors
Track and field athletes from the area have also been recognized for exceptional individual performances. Skyridge's Briggs Parker, a 12th-grade student, was named Athlete of the Month for his performance in sprints and relays. Parker captured a gold medal in the 100-meter dash at the state meet with a time of 10.7 seconds.
Individual State Champions
Other notable track achievements include Ty Baird, also a 12th-grade student, who was recognized as Athlete of the Month. Baird secured a gold medal in the high jump at the state competition by clearing a height of 6-feet-4.0-inches. Additionally, Lehi High School's Gracie Tait, a 12th-grade student, earned top state medals in javelin, sprints, and relays, including a gold medal in the javelin.
