Plain City Elementary highlighted second-grade teacher Sharon Mumford in a staff spotlight published September 15.
According to the school, Mumford has spent 22 of her 25 years in education helping students at Plain City Elementary.
Mumford's career in education began after being inspired by her own second-grade teacher, Mrs. Darrington. She is known for classroom traditions such as hatching chicks every spring to provide hands-on learning.
Mumford's hobbies include biking, camping, reading, and cooking. She expressed that her favorite part of working at Plain City Elementary is spending her days with the students and teachers, whom she described as fun, kind, and thoughtful.
In addition to her teaching, Mumford is noted for her interest in maps and her preference for bright colors. Her favorite local spots include the bike trails located around Weber County.
