Jordan District school bus drivers and Charlie the Bus Buddy are visiting every elementary school in the district to teach students about bus safety, according to an October 19 report.
This initiative occurs during National School Bus Safety Week, which serves as a reminder for students, motorists, and school bus drivers regarding their roles in ensuring child safety.
During these visits, students watch a short safety video before heading outside to practice boarding, riding, and exiting the bus safely.
Students also learn and practice the proper procedures for evacuating a bus during an emergency situation.
The district expressed appreciation for the dedicated transportation staff and school bus drivers who work to keep students safe each day.
