Oak City officials have issued notices for several upcoming public hearings to discuss infrastructure improvements, land use changes, and tax proposals. One notable hearing scheduled for May 21, 2026, will address the potential issuance of Parity Water Revenue Bonds in an amount not exceeding $1,500,000.
The proposed bond funding is intended for culinary water system improvements, including work on an existing well, pipeline installation, SCADA improvements, and the addition of an ASR system.
In addition to water infrastructure, the Town Council has scheduled a hearing for March 19 to consider the annexation of 8.74 acres located north of Oak City and west of Highway 125. This includes parcels 2991-1 through 2991-5.
Other municipal items previously or currently under review include ordinances regarding the International Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) Code, compensation for statutory officers and general employees, and various zoning amendments. Specifically, a hearing was set to discuss rezoning parcel O-3771 from Ag-4 to RR-1.
A proposal for a property tax increase has also been introduced. According to the notice, a $343,000 residence would see an annual increase of $12.26, while a $343,000 business would see an increase of $22.30 per year.
All listed public hearings are scheduled to take place at the Oak City Town Hall or Town Office located at 30 West Center Street, Oak City, Utah. Members of the public are invited to attend and participate in these sessions to provide input on the proposed changes.
