Bountiful Elementary has announced the return of students for the 2026-2027 school year. According to a notice on the school's website, the focus for the start of the year is a theme titled Make It Matter: Start Strong, which emphasizes building habits that help students learn, belong, and care for one another.
The school is implementing the P.A.W.S. framework to guide student expectations, which stands for Practice Kindness, Act Responsibly, Work & Play Safely, and Show Respect. These expectations apply to various school activities, including entering the building, moving through halls, using the playground, and following classroom routines.
Families are encouraged to attend Back to School Night on Monday, August 17. For incoming kindergarten students, the evening begins with Popsicles & Play at 5:00 p.m. on the kindergarten playground. The main Back to School Night for kindergarten through 6th grade families begins at 5:30 p.m. and includes three sessions. The event provides opportunities to meet teachers, locate classrooms, and access community resources such as food, clothing, and backpacks. Assistance with free and reduced lunch applications will also be available.
Students are scheduled to return to school on Thursday, August 20. The schedule for that day includes breakfast at 8:20 a.m., the start of school at 8:50 a.m., the tardy bell at 8:55 a.m., and dismissal at 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 21, is also designated as a 1:30 p.m. early dismissal day.
School officials requested that adults bring identification when entering the building during the school day. Drivers are asked to allow extra time for arrival and pickup to ensure safety around pedestrians and school property.
The school recommends that families use the Bountiful Elementary website for the most current updates, including event times and locations. Additionally, the myDSD system is available for student-specific information, such as teacher assignments and document approvals.
