Foxboro Elementary will join students throughout the Davis School District and thousands of children across Utah on Friday, Oct. 2, for the Statewide Read-A-Thon, according to an Oct. 1 report.
The event serves as a celebration of reading and lifelong learning.
During the Read-A-Thon, students will set aside dedicated time during the school day to enjoy books, explore topics of interest, and strengthen reading skills.
Whether students choose a favorite story, a new author, or a subject they are passionate about, the event is designed to make reading a shared experience across classrooms and communities.
Reading is considered a critical component of student success by helping children build knowledge, expand vocabulary, strengthen comprehension skills, and develop creativity.
The Statewide Read-A-Thon highlights the importance of literacy while encouraging students to view reading as both an educational tool and an enjoyable activity.
