The South Ogden City Council was scheduled to hold a regularly scheduled work session and a regular council meeting on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, according to a notice and agenda published October 2.
The work session was planned for 5 p.m. at City Hall, 3950 Adams Ave., in the EOC, while the subsequent council meeting was scheduled for 6 p.m. in the city council chambers.
The work session, which was led by Mayor Russell Porter, included a review of the council meeting agenda and discussions regarding resident survey questions. The agenda also included an overview of mid-term vacancy procedures.
During the regular council meeting, the agenda included an opening ceremony featuring a prayer or moment of silence and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Council Member Peterson. The council was scheduled to consider several legislative items during the meeting. These included Resolution 26-28 regarding city council mid-term vacancy procedures and Ordinance 26-08, which involves amending the city code for vacancies.
Additional scheduled items included the approval of the September 15, 2026, council minutes and the nomination and election of a Mayor Pro Tem. The council was also scheduled to consider a proclamation declaring October 11-17, 2026, as WSU Homecoming Week in South Ogden City.
