Utah safety officials remind parents of helmet laws as kids head back to school
New this school year kids must wear helmets when riding e-bikes, e-scooters or e-motorcycles. Passed during the 2026 legislative session, Utah’s law requires riders under 21 on e-bikes, e-scooters or e-motorcycles to wear a helmet on public roads The law gives officers the authority to impound electric two-wheelers when a minor violates safety laws.

Volunteers wanted for annual Park City Day of Service
Park City’s third annual 9/11 National Day of Service is seeking 1,200 volunteers for a community-wide day of giving back. Parkite takes Park City to court over ski mountain lift upgrades
It's the second time Silverlode and Eagle lift upgrades have been challenged in state court. Last time, a judge blocked them. Prospector resident Alan Theis filed the petition in Summit County’s 3rd District Court Aug. The improvements would expand Silverlode from a six-passenger detachable lift to an eight-pack.

Park City planning panel hears scattered support for Bonanza Park development - Park Record
The Park City Planning Commission heard scattered support on Wednesday for a development proposal in Bonanza Park involving the Park City municipal government, even as opponents continued to press issues they have seen as problematic since the start of the talks. The panel received approximately 35 minutes of testimony, mostly criticism of the concept.

Mountain Regional water customers may see a larger rate increase up front to expand capacity at Signal Hill. Signal Hill is where Mountain Regional pumps water from the Weber River, where it's then disbursed to more than 6,000 customers in the Snyderville Basin.

Kouri Richins ordered to repay $1.4M in murdered husband’s life insurance
Richins was convicted of murder in March and appeared in court virtually from the Utah State Prison. Aug. Richins’ defense team didn’t oppose the amount, but asked the court to delay repayment while she appeals her conviction. Mrazik was not sure Utah law allows him to delay Richins’ restitution.
