Dammeron Valley Fire & Rescue performed an angled extrication on Saturday after a motorcyclist fell 30 feet off a roadway, according to a report published August 15.
Crews were dispatched to Gunlock Road at 10:26 a.m. and arrived to find a single motorcyclist who had departed the roadway and fallen down an embankment approximately 30 feet deep. The rider was wearing a helmet.
The DVF&R crew executed a low-angle extrication to bring the patient back to the roadway. Gold Cross Ambulance provided initial care before the patient was transferred to Intermountain Flight & Ambulance Services for air transport to Intermountain St. George Regional Hospital.
The patient was transported in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
The rescue involved crews from Dammeron Valley Fire & Rescue, Northwestern Special Service District, Gold Cross Ambulance, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
DVF&R reminded riders on Gunlock Road and other rural roads in Washington County to observe posted speed limits and adjust speed and riding style to weather and road conditions, and to wear helmets.
