The Iron County Sheriff’s Office is offering its Junior Deputy Academy to high school students and recent graduates. The program provides a unique experience designed to give participants an inside look into the world of law enforcement.
Academy Schedule and Location
The academy is scheduled to run from June 8 through June 19, 2026. It operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Iron County Sheriff’s Office.
Eligibility and Enrollment Limits
The program is open to students between the ages of 14 and 19. Due to limited capacity, only 15 students will be accepted into the academy.
Costs and Financial Assistance
While there is no cost for tuition or materials and lunches are provided, students are required to purchase uniforms, which typically cost less than $100. The Sheriff's Office stated that if this cost is too much for a student to bear, other arrangements can be made as no student will be turned away for financial reasons.
Application Process and Deadline
Interested individuals must complete an application packet and return it to the Iron County Sheriff’s Office before May 11, 2026.
