Harrisville City announced a mid-term vacancy on the Harrisville City Council, according to a notice posted June 16, 2026.
In accordance with Utah Code §20A-1-510, the City Council is set to fill the vacancy by appointment. The appointed individual will serve through December 2027 to complete the remainder of the unexpired term.
Applicants must meet several eligibility requirements to be considered. Candidates must be registered voters within Harrisville City and have been a resident of the city for at least 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the appointment. Additionally, applicants cannot have been convicted of a felony, treason, or a crime relating to elections, and cannot have been declared mentally incompetent.
Interested individuals were required to submit applications to City Recorder Jack Fogal by July 1, 2026, at 5 PM. Applications could be submitted in person, by mail, or via email.
Qualified applicants were scheduled to be interviewed by the Mayor and City Council during an open and public City Council Meeting on July 14, 2026, at 7:00 PM. The meeting was held in the Harrisville City Council Chambers located at 363 W. Independence Blvd. The City Council anticipated making the appointment during that same meeting.
