CASTLE DALE – The Castle Dale City Council held its latest meeting on Thursday, Aug. 13, where the Council declared Sept. 2026 as Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month. Amanda McIntosh from Four Corners Community Behavioral Health and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention presented the proclamation to the Council.

The hotly anticipated return of the coal bowl between the Emery Spartans and the Carbon Dinos arrived in the Castle Country on Friday, Aug. 21, as the Dinos traveled to Castle Dale for a non-region contest against the Spartans. Having not lost to Carbon since 2018, Emery extended its ongoing win streak over the Dinos, defeating its cross-county foe 41-14.
