The 2026 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road combines rugged styling with trail-ready capability, according to a report published October 24, 2026. Finished in Heritage Blue, the midsize pickup features muscular fenders, all-terrain tires, and a bold front grille designed for both road and off-road use.
The vehicle's performance was tested during a week of driving that included a trip to Nephi to transport six 55-inch televisions for a business presentation. While uncooperative weather prevented a planned mountain excursion, the truck was used for everyday driving and errands. The Tacoma TRD Off-Road features an elevated stance and four-wheel-drive capability, including Bilstein monotube shocks with piggyback reservoirs and an electronically controlled locking rear differential.
Under the hood, the gasoline-powered model uses a 2.4-liter i-FORCE turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing up to 278 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque when paired with an automatic transmission. Toyota also offers an i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain for the TRD Off-Road, which combines the turbocharged engine with an electric motor to produce up to 326 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque. The base price for the vehicle is $43,515, with a destination charge of $1,500. The price as driven was $55,209.
Toyota has maintained the Tacoma as America’s best-selling midsize pickup for more than two decades. The 2026 model year continues this run with a modern cabin featuring a large touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrumentation, and easy-to-reach controls. The interior offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and an available 14-inch multimedia touchscreen.
