A semi-truck rolled onto its side on Interstate 80 between Salt Lake and Tooele counties early Wednesday morning, according to a report from Kristina Hoxha. The incident prompted a full closure of westbound lanes and caused partial delays for eastbound traffic.
Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Zach Randall stated the crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. near mile marker 104. Only minor injuries were reported in the accident, though details regarding the cause of the crash were not immediately available.
Westbound traffic was diverted off I-80 onto SR-202 at mile marker 104, and drivers could use SR-201 to return to I-80 at mile marker 101. While eastbound traffic continued on I-80, it faced potential delays, with SR-201 to SR-202 available as an alternate route.
Just after 7 a.m., Lt. Randall said emergency responders expected the interstate to reopen shortly.
