The Taylorsville Plaza +ART program has unveiled its 2025-26 collection, featuring 22 sculptures at Centennial Plaza. The current season includes eighteen sculptures that were formally unveiled on September 26, alongside four sculptures that remain on permanent display at the plaza.
The sculpture collection is part of an ongoing effort to bring public art to the community. Mayor Kristie Overson stated that artists have essentially lent their pieces to the city for a one-year display period.
Overson also expressed appreciation for the donors, supporters, and the City Council for providing the funding necessary to support the Plaza +ART program. Program sponsors for this year include Intermountain Health, The Overson Family, and Rocky Mountain Power.
Centennial Plaza serves as a community-centric space connecting City Hall and the Mid-Valley Performing Arts Center. The plaza features lighted walking paths, an outdoor stage, landscaping, and a natural amphitheater.
Visitors can view the sculptures free of charge at any time, day or night. While some pieces are intended for permanent display, others will rotate through the plaza as part of the seasonal collection.
Centennial Plaza is located at 2600 W. Taylorsville Blvd., in front of City Hall. For those interested in purchasing sculptures, inquiries can be directed to executive assistant Jennifer Andrus.
