SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Jazz announced today that the team has signed guard Tamar Bates to a two-way contract.
Per team policy, the terms of the deal were not disclosed.
A native of Kansas City, Kan., Bates played his college basketball at Indiana from 2021 to 2023, appearing in 67 games. He also spent two collegiate seasons at Missouri from 2023 to 2025, where he averaged 13.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 26.6 minutes per game while shooting 50.2 percent.
During the last season, Bates played 13 games for the NBA G League's Grand Rapids Gold. During that period, he averaged 19.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 33.2 minutes per game, shooting 55.6 percent from the field and 43.3 percent from beyond the arc.
