The Domínguez–Escalante 250th Commemorative cross made a stop in Duchesne City this month in recognition of the historic 1776 expedition. “Mayor Deborah Herron had the opportunity to sign the commemorative cross at Eagle Park, adding Duchesne to the communities and historic locations connected through this special project,” shares the Duchesne City announcement.

Sixteen New Mining Claims Filed in Bears Ears Lands After Ban Lifted
Sixteen new mining claims were filed in lands previously protected by the Bears Ears National Monument immediately following the lifting of a mining ban on September 11. The claims, recorded in San Juan County, include interests from Kimmerle Mining and George W. Schultz in areas such as the Lockhart Basin.
