Austin Kenneth Garceau, 38, was booked into the Summit County jail for the alleged murder of Damon Dae Enman, according to court documents filed by a Park City Police Department officer. The incident occurred at a residence on Deer Valley Drive on July 24.
Dispatch received a call at 8:27 a.m. on Friday, July 24, from an individual identifying himself as Damon, stating he had been stabbed by Austin. Upon entering the residence, responding officers located Enman with a deep stab wound to his chest and Garceau with a laceration to his arm.
A witness identified as K.L. told investigators that Garceau possessed a knife and stated that Enman was a reptilian before stabbing him. The witness reported attempting to disarm Garceau by jumping on his back and giving him a bear hug, after which Garceau dropped the knife and asked what he had done.
A second individual at the residence, identified as W.W., told investigators he heard yelling and saw Garceau jump on an unknown male during a physical altercation. W.W. reported hearing the distinct sound of Garceau pulling a knife from a butcher block in the kitchen. After returning upstairs, W.W. heard Garceau say something to the effect of someone being a reptilian.
Enman was transported to the University of Utah Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 10:37 a.m. on July 25. The medical examiner planned to rule the death a homicide caused by multiple sharp force injuries.
Garceau is being held without bail on investigation of alleged first-degree felony murder.
