A shelter-in-place order for a two-block area in Eagle Mountain was lifted Saturday after the Utah County Metro SWAT team took a suspect into custody following an early morning altercation. The Utah County Sheriff's Office reported the suspect was potentially armed and had stopped responding to deputies inside a residence.
Suspect Taken Into Custody
The incident began when an altercation occurred between two parties in the community, according to a post from the Utah County Sheriff's Office on Saturday. Law enforcement officials stated that the suspect may have been armed and was not responding to deputies located inside a residence.
Following the standoff, authorities obtained a search warrant to facilitate the resolution of the incident. The Utah County Metro SWAT team responded to the home and successfully took the suspect into custody without further incident. The Sheriff's Office confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public.
