Erratic winds have expanded the Stookey fire in Tooele County to an estimated 2,800 acres. The fire was previously estimated at 300 acres on Saturday and remains at 0% containment.
Firefighting crews are currently engaged in suppression efforts. According to officials, crews are using indirect suppression on the east and west sides of the fire, while direct suppression is being utilized in Rock Canyon.
The Tom Creek Fire currently burning 16 miles southwest of Vernon is estimated at approximately 50 acres. Air tankers and helicopters are droppinh retardant and water, with multiple engine crews on the ground.
TOOELE COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — Multiple new fires have started near the Tintic Mountains. According to Utah Fire Info, four separate fires have started over the last few hours. The fires are all burning west of the Tintic Mountains and east of Dugway.
