September is National City Library Card Signup Month, a time to support unionized city employees by obtaining a library card, according to a September 3 report from City Cast Salt Lake.
Residents can sign up for a card online or at one of eight Salt Lake library branches. To prove residency in Salt Lake City or County, individuals must provide identification and a piece of mail, a check, or a paystub. Those living outside Salt Lake County may still obtain the perks for an annual fee of $80.
Throughout the month, library cardholders can access several discounts at local businesses. These include a 20% discount at Don Daniel's Mexican Grill & Cantina and a 10% discount at Lovebound Library.
Other available perks include buy-one-get-one bundlets at Nothing Bundt Cakes, a 15% discount on online registration at Workshop SLC, and a free month of GREE
Nbike rentals.
