The Syracuse City Council is scheduled to hold a regular business meeting on Oct. 13, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., according to a notice published Oct. 8. The meeting will be held in person at Syracuse City Hall, located at 1979 W. 1900 S., and will also be available electronically via Zoom.
The agenda for the upcoming meeting includes several public hearings. One hearing will address a proposed resolution to amend the Syracuse City budget for the fiscal year ending June 20, 2027. A second public hearing is scheduled to discuss the declaration of surplus property and a proposed resolution authorizing the sale of 1.526 acres of real property, located approximately at 1862 W. 1700 S., to the Syracuse City Redevelopment Agency.
Other items on the agenda include the administration of an oath of office for new Youth Court members and the proposed appointment of Evan Brown to the Disaster Preparedness Committee via Resolution R26-42. The council will also review the potential acquisition of surplus property from the Davis School District and consider a resolution to adopt an Automated Clearing House (ACH) fraud prevention and monitoring policy.
The consent agenda features several items, such as authorizing a Memorandum of Understanding with Davis County regarding Costco sales tax distributions and proposing Resolution R26-37 to authorize the execution of the Intercounty Automatic Aid Fire Agreement. Additionally, the council will consider amending the City Policy regarding financial hardship for ambulance billing and amending the Syracuse City Wage Scale for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2027.

Comments submitted by that deadline will be read for the record during the meeting.
