The Huntington City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Thursday, September 10, 2026, to discuss proposed regulations for short-term and vacation rentals, according to a notice published August 28.
The hearing is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Huntington City Hall, located at 20 South Main Street in Huntington, Utah.
The hearing aims to receive public comment regarding proposed Ordinance No. O-2026-9. This ordinance would amend Chapter 9-15 of the Huntington City Code concerning short-term and vacation rentals.
Under the proposed ordinance, new regulations would govern short-term and vacation rentals within Huntington City. These regulations include requirements for business licensing, conditional use approval, and occupancy. The ordinance also addresses separation between short-term and vacation rentals in residential zones, responsible parties, a citywide license cap, a waiting list, variances, transfer of ownership, and annual renewal. The ordinance would also address existing licensed short-term and vacation rentals.
Interested individuals are invited to attend the hearing to provide oral or written comments. Copies of the proposed ordinance and related materials are available for inspection at the Huntington City Recorder's Office during regular business hours.
