Syracuse Junior High School is accepting applications for its 2027 School Community Council. The council serves as an advisory body to school and district administrations and assists in determining the use of funds from the School LAND Trust Program to support student achievement.
According to an application posted online, Syracuse Junior High received $269,283.62 from the School LAND Trust Program this year. The council is responsible for reviewing and preparing annual academic plans for students, which are subject to final approval by the Davis School District Board of Education.
Membership on the council consists of elected school employees and parents of students attending the school. Parent members must have a student attending the school for at least one year during their two-year term of service. Employee members must be employed by Syracuse Junior High and the Davis School District.
The application deadline for candidates is September 9, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Elections were scheduled to take place from September 14 through September 18, 2026.
