Shannon Hale is scheduled to visit Bountiful Elementary to speak with students in grades 2 through 6. The author assembly, made possible through The King’s English bookstore, provides students a rare opportunity to hear directly from an author.

Several upcoming deadlines were noted by the school. Robotics applications for the Davis Robotics League and VEX IQ Competition are due Friday, September 4. Free and reduced lunch applications must be submitted via myDSD by Thursday, September 3.
Additionally, the PTA-sponsored Fall Musical Theater Workshop begins for registered 3rd and 4th grade students on Tuesday, while 5th and 6th grade students begin on Thursday. Registered families must provide a $40 workshop fee by September 1.
Bountiful Elementary officials reported that nearly 9% of students were absent from school in a single day on a recent Friday. The district has assigned an attendance specialist to work with the school and families to address chronic absenteeism.
Parents are also asked to log in to myDSD to acknowledge required guardian documents, specifically the Acceptable Use Agreement. Without this acknowledgment, students are unable to use school technology.
The school reminded families that there is no school on Monday, September 7, due to Labor Day. Students are scheduled to return on Tuesday, September 8.
