Students will be photographed in their math classes. If your student is not in a math class at Shoreline but you would like them to have a school photo, please have them come early to school and see the office.
You can place your order on MyLifetouch using Picture Day ID EVTFSTV67. Order before midnight on Picture Day to receive free shipping.
Students may also bring their completed flyer with cash or check on Picture Day.
Orders placed after Picture Day must be placed online through MyLifetouch.
Retake Day: Wednesday, September 23.
7th grade students only: Students will also have their vision screened by the school nurse as they exit school photos with their math class.
All Shoreline students will receive a school T-shirt after completing school photos.

E-Bikes and Scooters at Shoreline
Our School Resource Officer, Officer Gillespie, asked that the following information be shared with parents and students.
Please be aware of the laws regarding bikes and scooters:
All riders of any bikes or scooters are required to wear a helmet while operating on a roadway.
An e-bike without human-powered pedals is legally classified as an e-motorcycle. This requires compliance with motorcycle laws, including street-legal equipment, a driver's license, motorcycle endorsement, registration, insurance, and other requirements. These are also not legal to operate on public sidewalks. Please refrain from allowing students to ride these devices to school, as they can be subject to state impound.
Be safe and stay in compliance with the law. Laws regarding these devices are updated frequently, and the school will try to provide the most up-to-date information as it becomes available.
School Fees
Payment for class fees is due by August 31.
Statements are sent by email from raimeeh@provo.edu and will arrive the following week to the primary parent contact in PowerSchool.
Payment options: Cash, check, Apple Pay, VISA, MasterCard, and Discover are accepted.
Pay Online: Beginning August 5, families who have previously paid fees online may log in to pay this year's fees through the online payment system. Families paying online for the first time should use the link in the email sent from raimeeh@provo.edu.
In Person: Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted in the Financial Office.
Fee Waiver: If you believe you qualify for a fee waiver, bring eligibility documentation, such as 2025 taxes or three recent pay stubs for each working member of the household. Complete the Fee Waiver Application and return it to Shoreline's Financial Office or email the completed application and documentation to smsfeewaivers@provo.edu.
Apply for Free / Reduced Price Meals
School meals are not automatically free. A new application is required at the start of each school year, even if you qualified last year.
Visit MySchoolApps. Select “Utah” or enter your ZIP code, then select “Provo School District” to apply. Links to the online meal application were also included in the returning student enrollment process.
Online applications are processed more quickly. Paper applications are also available at all schools for parents who prefer to complete an application by hand.
Only one paper application is needed per household. The form may be turned in at any school your students attend in Provo City School District.

School Supplies
Unlike elementary school, school supplies are determined by each student's individual class schedule. Teachers will let students know what is needed during the first week of school.
Each student will receive a pencil pouch, two pencils, an eraser, and a folder from Shoreline to start the school year.
Student Check In / Check Out
Shoreline uses the RAPTOR electronic identification system to allow visitors into the building. This includes parents coming to check out students during school hours.
Please be prepared for the process to take up to 15 minutes and plan your arrival time accordingly.
Anyone wanting access to the building or wanting to check out a student during school hours must present a government-issued ID each and every time.

Shoreline's Absence and Attendance Policy
When your student is sick, has a doctor's appointment, has a family trip, or has another reason to be absent, it is very important to contact the school to excuse the absence within one week of the absence.
Choose one of the following ways to excuse an absence:
Call the school at 801-374-4980 and choose option #2.
Send an email to smsattendance@provo.edu.
Turn in a doctor's note to the Attendance Office.
You may need to leave a voice message when calling the Attendance Office because the Attendance Secretary, Veronica Peterson, may be assisting another parent or working with someone in her office.
When leaving a message by phone or email, or requesting a note from your doctor, include:
Your name
The student's name
The day or days you need to excuse your student
The reason for the absence
A phone number where you can be reached
Please allow 24 hours for an excused absence to appear in PowerSchool. If you have already contacted us to excuse the absence, please disregard any robocalls received for that absence.
Questions regarding student grades or missing assignments should be directed to teachers or school counselors. See the links on the Shoreline website for information about contacting teachers and counselors.
Cell Phone and Headphone Policy
Please review the following policy with your student prior to the start of the school year.
Many parents send students to school with a cell phone for use before and after school. However, students may not use cell phones during the school day.
Cell phones and headphones disrupt the learning environment and are not necessary because phones are available in the main office, counseling center, and classrooms for students to use with permission.
If parents need to communicate with a student, they can call the office so staff can bring the student to the office or communicate a message to the student.
Cell phones and headphones used during the school day will be confiscated. Students must meet with an administrator before the items will be returned. A third confiscation will result in a parent/administrator conference before the phone will be returned.
If a teacher requires students to use headphones as part of a lesson, headphones will be provided in class. Students do not need to bring their own headphones to school to access academic experiences.

For convenience, a calendar magnet will be sent home with students for quick reference to days with no school or early release.

Closed Campus / Food Deliveries
To ensure the safety of all students, Shoreline Middle School is a closed campus.
All students must be checked out of school before leaving during school hours and must check back in upon returning. This includes leaving for lunch with a parent or guardian.
Students will only be checked out to legal parents/guardians and those listed as emergency contacts in PowerSchool unless prior arrangements have been made directly with the Attendance Office.
Food deliveries are not allowed from anyone other than an immediate family member. Families may drop food off in the office for staff to take to the student during lunch.
Commercial delivery services will be rejected for safety reasons.
