Salt Lake County Library scheduled several community programs for Monday, June 15, ranging from infant storytime in Draper to teen events in Kearns, while Alpine School District issued a reminder regarding fireworks prohibitions on school grounds.
Monday Library Program Schedule
Salt Lake County Library's Monday schedule included several sessions for young children. A Baby and Me storytime session featuring songs and nursery rhymes was held from 10:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Draper Meeting Room for infants up to 18 months. In South Jordan, Toddler Time for children ages 1.5 to 3 took place from 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., followed by a Playtime for Littles session from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. designed for children ages 1 to 5.
Teen and Interactive Activities
Other library activities on June 15 included a Teen Story Hour in Kearns from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., featuring coloring and music. Additionally, the Taylorsville library location hosted a Nasca Lines Match challenge, an activity running from June 15 through June 20 where participants could earn prizes by matching geometric shapes.
School District Fireworks Warning
As Independence Day and Pioneer Day celebrations approach, Alpine School District announced that fireworks are prohibited on all school district property. The district noted that elevated wildfire risks due to summer drought conditions necessitate responsible celebrations to protect schools and surrounding open spaces.
