The Utah County Planning Commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing on September 15, 2026, to consider proposed changes to the county's land use ordinances, according to a September 4 notice.
The hearing, which begins at 5:30 p.m., will focus on a request from the Utah County Commission to amend several chapters of the Utah County Land Use Ordinance. The proposed amendments involve adding data centers as a permitted use within the Mining and Grazing (M&G-1) and Industrial (I-1) zones. Additionally, the request includes the creation of a Data Center Overlay (DCO) Zone along with associated development standards and requirements.
The meeting will be held in Room 1400 of the Utah County Administration Building, located at 100 East Center Street in Provo. While the proceedings can be viewed live via the Utah County Government YouTube channel, participation in the public hearing requires being present in person at the scheduled time and location.
Individuals wishing to submit written comments or information must do so prior to the meeting, no later than 1:00 p.m. on the day of the hearing. According to the notice, written materials must be sent to planningcommission@utahcounty.gov, as no written comments will be accepted during the meeting itself.
