The City of Moab Planning Commission has scheduled a public hearing for Thursday, August 13th, 2026, to discuss Proposed Ordinance No. 2026-16. The meeting is expected to begin at approximately 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Moab City Offices.
The proposed ordinance seeks to amend several sections of the Moab Municipal Code. Specifically, the changes involve Section 2.52.030 regarding the Planning Commission, Chapter 16.08 concerning Subdivision Procedure, and Section 17.12.050 regarding Damaged Building Restoration.
Key aspects of the proposed ordinance include extending recording deadlines for approved final plats and their related one-time extensions. The ordinance also proposes to eliminate the public hearing requirement for preliminary plats, adjust attendance requirements for the Planning Commission, and amend regulations for rebuilding or renovating nonconforming structures and uses following a fire or calamity.
Members of the public may review all information related to the proposal at the Moab City Offices during regular business hours. Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
