The Iron County School District issued a statement expressing condolences to the family of a driver involved in a tragic accident involving a school bus. The collision occurred at the beginning of a morning route and is under active investigation by the Utah Highway Patrol.
According to an undated notice from the district, no students were on the bus when the accident occurred. However, the district noted that students traveling to school may have passed the scene of the accident.
Recognizing that such situations can be upsetting for students, the district stated that counselors are available at all of its schools for anyone struggling with what they saw or heard.
