PROPOSED CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS

Constitutional Amendment A.

Shall the Utah Constitution be amended to change how proposed constitutional

amendments are published, requiring publication for 60 days immediately before the

general election in a manner established by state law instead of in newspapers? If

voters approve Constitutional Amendment A, state statute would change to require the

Lieutenant Governor to publish the full text of all proposed constitutional amendments

and other ballot questions from the Legislature, on the Utah Public Notice Website and

on the Lieutenant Governor’s website for 60 days immediately before the general

election.

Constitutional Amendment B.

Shall the Utah Constitution be amended to require that citizen-proposed laws that

increase taxes compared to existing law be approved by at least 60% of voters, instead

of a simple majority?

Election Information

For general information about elections please visit vote.utah.gov or

https://duchesne.utah.gov/gov/elected-officials/clerk-auditor/elections-home/

The state offers an electronic ballot delivery method provided through the Enhanced

Voting platform. Electronic voting instructions will be emailed approximately 45 days

before Election Day and electronic ballots must be received by the Elections Office no

later than 8:00 pm (Mountain Standard Time) on Election Day.

Federal Voting Assistance Program

Military and overseas voters may contact the Federal Voting Assistance Program

(FVAP), which provides tools and resources to ensure that U.S. citizens who want to

vote can do so from anywhere in the world.

Instructions and the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA), which is the registration

form, or the Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB), the backup ballot, are available

online.

Utah’s Online Tool: www.fvap.gov/uta

Federal Voting Assistance Program: www.fvap.gov

Instructions for completing the FPCA form:

Instructions for completing the Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB):

www.fvap.gov/uploads/FVAP/Outreach-Materials/FVAP_FWAB.pdf

If you don’t receive a ballot in time to vote, you may complete a FWAB. For the

upcoming election, you would go to the bottom of the FWAB and write in the office and

the preferred candidate’s name of your choice or your choice on ballot initiatives and

return that to our office.
