Scorpion Hunt Returns to Eagle Mountain City

Eagle Mountain residents are invited to join Mucky Boot Pest Control, the Eagle Mountain Nature & Wildlife Alliance, and Eagle Mountain City for another family-friendly Scorpion Hunt on Friday, August 14, 2026. Following a strong turnout at the previous event, participants will have another opportunity to learn about scorpions, explore their local habitat, and discover what comes out after dark.
The event will begin at 8:30 PM with a required safety briefing inside Eagle Mountain City Hall, located at 1650 E. Stagecoach Run. The scorpion hunt will begin immediately after the briefing.
Safety Briefing Required
All participants must attend the safety briefing before participating in the hunt. Anyone who does not attend the briefing will not be permitted to participate.
The briefing will cover what participants should look for, how to safely participate in the hunt, and what other wildlife participants may encounter while exploring after dark.
Because the group will be entering the scorpions' habitat at night, participants should follow all safety instructions provided during the briefing.
What to Bring
Participants are encouraged to bring:
Long pants
Closed-toed shoes
A regular flashlight
A black light or UV flashlight
Leather gloves
A bucket
Participants should come prepared to learn about local wildlife and explore the area safely after dark.
