A 27-year-old male from Tooele County was airlifted from Sand Hollow State Park after a drowning incident occurred at Sand Hollow Reservoir.
The incident took place at approximately 1:15 PM, according to the Utah DNR Division of Law Enforcement.
While swimming at the reservoir, the male became fatigued and was unable to continue swimming. Bystanders observed the man in distress and retrieved him from the water in an unconscious state.
After CPR was initiated, the individual was moved to land where first responders took over care. He was subsequently transported via helicopter for advanced medical treatment. His current condition was unknown at the time of the report.
The Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division expressed gratitude to the bystanders who assisted during the incident.
The division also recognized Hurricane Valley Fire/EMS, Washington County Search and Rescue, and Intermountain Life Flight for their rapid response.
