Real Salt Lake reached an agreement to transfer RSL Academy product and U.S. Youth National Team standout Zavier Gozo to Crystal Palace, a London-based English Premier League club. The transfer, announced Tuesday, August 18, 2026, is a club-record deal with undisclosed terms. Real Salt Lake will retain a significant percentage of any future transfer fee for the winger.
Gozo, born in West Valley City and raised in Eagle Mountain, Utah, became the first Utah native to arrive in England's Premier League. He was RSL's sole representative at the 2026 MLS All-Star Game, where he entered as a substitute in the 63rd minute to become the youngest RSL All-Star at 19 years, four months, and two days old.
During the 2026 MLS season, Gozo served as RSL's goal-contribution leader with six goals and five assists in 16 appearances. On May 13, he became the youngest player in club history to score twice in a single match during a 3-0 victory over Houston. His performance during the 2025 MLS campaign included a ranking at number 10 on Major League Soccer's annual 22 Under 22 list.
RSL Sporting Director Kurt Schmid stated that Gozo earned the opportunity through his work ethic and character, noting the player's growth from the Academy into his current role. RSL Assistant Sporting Director Tony Beltran added that Gozo serves as a shining example of the club's developmental paradigm.
Gozo's career includes appearances for the Real Monarchs during the 2023 and 2024 seasons, where he scored six goals in 26 appearances. He has also represented the United States U-20 Men's National Team, recently recording three goals and three assists in various appearances.
Real Salt Lake has been a member of Major League Soccer since 2005 and plays home matches at America First Field in Sandy, Utah. The club's player development system includes the RSL Academy and Real Monarchs.
