Stage 2 fire restrictions for all open fires have been rescinded in parts of Southwest Utah beginning July 31, 2026. The Utah Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands announced the decision following moderated fire danger indices and improved weather conditions.
The rescindment applies to orders SWCLO2631, SWCLO2632, SWCLO2633, SWCLO2634, and SWCLO2635. The affected areas include all unincorporated private and all state lands within Beaver, Iron, Washington, Garfield, and Kane counties. This order does not affect private lands located within city limits or incorporated towns.
While Stage 2 restrictions are lifted, fire danger is expected to remain high as the summer months continue. Consequently, Stage 1 fire restrictions enacted by Closure Orders SWCLO2601, SWCLO2602, SWCLO2603, SWCLO2604, and SWCLO2605 remain in place.
The changes to fire restrictions were scheduled to take effect at 12:01 am on Friday, July 31, 2026.
