Grantsville City Council will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. to consider a proposed budget amendment for the General Fund. The proposal seeks to increase the Capital Projects line item within the Class C Roads Department budget by $3,037,000.00 for the purchase of road department equipment.
The proposed expenditure utilizes Class C Road Funds, which are restricted for the purposes of roadway construction, maintenance, and improvement. According to the notice, no new revenues or external funding sources are being proposed as part of this amendment.
The equipment purchases are intended to improve operational efficiency, reduce long-term maintenance costs, and enhance the ability of the City to maintain and preserve roadway infrastructure. The Road Department has identified several strategic investments, including a Secmair Chip/Seal Coat Truck, an Asphalt Zipper, and a street sweeper, among others.
Specific items listed in the request include a crack seal trailer, a mastic trailer, a 2000-gallon water truck, and a skid loader with a grader blade. The proposal also includes a ten-wheel dump truck project involving the upfit of an existing truck body, two new crew cab trucks equipped with fuel cells, an equipment hauling trailer, and a towable post hole auger.
The public hearing will be held both in person at Grantsville City Hall, located at 429 E. Main Street, Grantsville, Utah, and electronically via Zoom.
Public comments may be submitted via email to the City Recorder, Alicia Fairbourne, or provided during the meeting. All emailed comments must be received prior to 12:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting to be considered for the public record.
